Friends of Patients at the NIH is pleased to announce the election of three new members to the Friends at NIH Board of Directors. With their rich experiences in finance, accounting, and development, we are looking forward to working with Donald Hill, Julie Wolf-Rodda, and Rich LaFleur to expand possibilities for Friends at NIH. These individuals bring a wealth of experience and expertise in their fields and will be tremendous assets.
Donald Hill, CFA
Donald Hill is the Chief Financial Officer of our partner, Foundation for the National Institutes of Health. Donald has over 30 years of experience in the financial sector. He has held CFO roles with Project HOPE, a global health education and humanitarian organization, and Metabolex (CymaBay Therapeutics), a biopharmaceutical company focused on developing treatments for metabolic diseases. Donald also spent over 20 years at Merck & Co. Donald holds an M.S. in Finance and Applied Economics from the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a B.A. in Political Economy from the University of California, Berkeley.
Julie Wolf-Rodda
Julie Wolf-Rodda is the Senior Vice President of Development of our partner, Foundation for the National Institutes of Health. Julie has been with FNIH since 2004, and she has over 20 years of experience in working with non-profit organizations. Previously, Julie served as the Vice President for Development at the National Building Museum. She has also held senior development roles at the American Digestive Health Foundation, Communities In Schools, and the National Academy of Engineering. Julie received a B.A. from Carleton College and an M.A. from The George Washington University Elliott School of International Affairs.
Rich LaFleur, CPA
Rich LaFleur has worked at the accounting and advisory firm Grant Thornton for 37 years. He is currently a senior audit partner with the company and works mainly with clients in the real estate, hospitality, and government services sectors. Rich has served on the firm’s Partnership Board for three terms, and he led the firm’s Washington and Baltimore practices as Office Managing Partner for 16 years. Rich is the co-founder, emcee, and co-chair of the Greater Washington Government Contractor Awards and a board member and former chairman of the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce. Rich received his B.S. degree from Miami University in Ohio.
