We are truly honored to carry on the beautiful legacy of love, kindness, and hope through our cherished “Fridays with Ana and Friends” wellness cart program.
Every Friday, our dedicated staff and volunteers lovingly replenish our wellness cart, bringing it to the adult cancer patient units within the clinical center. Thanks to the incredible support of the Longenderfer and Dougherty families, along with our generous donors, Friends of Patients at the NIH is able to provide comforting items that brighten the days of patients during their hospital stays.
This holiday season, we were delighted to distribute special gift bags filled with cozy Pendleton blankets, fuzzy socks, warm hats, arts and craft kits, delicious chocolates, cookies, a variety of sweet and savory snacks, as well as lip balms and toiletry items.
The heartfelt comments we receive from patients—many of whom are in isolation—and their family members during this challenging time in the hospital truly illustrate the profound impact of our wellness cart program. We are grateful to everyone who supports our mission and fosters a sense of community among those we serve.
