Griffin Patrick Matuszek, 9, has been collecting coins to donate to Friends at NIH for almost a year because he knows the NIH is “an awesome place and saves lives.” A fourth grader at Barnsley Elementary School in Rockville, Griffin was inspired by a coin collection at school for another charity. He delivered a jar with $16 in coins, including two “rare” 50 cent pieces, to Program Manager Therese Draddy with his moms, Quinn (an NIH social worker) and Diane Cassidy, who doubled his efforts with a matching donation. If you know a student or a school that would like to save pennies to save lives, please contact: Therese at Therese@friendsatnih.org.
Thank you, Griffin, every coin counts!
